Dr. Claudia Miranda-Castillo is a Psychologist, MSc in Clinical Psychology and PhD in Aging and Mental Health from University College London (UK). She is currently Associate Professor in the Faculty of Nursing at Andrés Bello University (Chile) and Assistant Editor of the journal Aging and Mental Health. She has 18 years of teaching experience in social research methodologies and aging. Her research interests focus on psychosocial interventions for people with dementia and their families, needs assessment in older people, and mental health in family caregivers. She has led several national grants and has published papers about these topics. Recently, she was awarded a 10-year grant to be the Director of the Millennium Institute for Caregiving Research (MICARE) which main aim is to generate scientific knowledge about informal and formal caregiving of dependent older people and people with intellectual disability, through both, the characterization of caregiving from an integral perspective and the development of suitable evidence-based interventions.
