Originally from rural northern California, Jayme studied Psychology and Community Studies at the University of California, Santa Cruz, before pursuing a Master’s in Sociology & Social Anthropology at Central European University. Her academic journey culminated in a PhD in Health Sciences, during which, as a Marie Curie Research Fellow, she explored the impact of gender norms on the quality of life of residents in a care home. Jayme is driven by a passion for applying qualitative research methodologies to health and care research, emphasizing the complexity of lived experiences and recognizing personal narratives as valuable data in efforts to improve health outcomes for underrepresented and vulnerable populations. Her professional experience includes roles as a clinical research coordinator, mental health coordinator, community clinic fundraiser, and frontline care provider in mutual aid organizations.
