Laura Sutherland is a PhD Candidate in Social Work and Anthropology at Wayne State University. She is a Consultant for the LACI Project, assisting in recruiting and supporting Research Associates and in data analysis. Her research interests include personhood and dementia, health disparities among older adults, and the use of the arts to enhance quality of life and community. As part of multiple collaborative research teams, she has explored issues of social relations, communication, and care among older adults. Before she entered her doctoral program, she worked as a clinical social worker who connected homebound older adults to community services, as a HUD Service Coordinator, and as a care coordinator assisting older adults in the transition from hospital to home.
